Executive Office

Records in this series were created by former NYRR President/CEO Mary Wittenberg and consist of correspondence and memoranda; reports; speeches; talking points; as well as her personal copies of NYRR Board of Directors meeting minutes and supplemental materials.

The bulk of the board materials date from 2000-2015 and consist of supplemental materials, which typically contain an agenda, minutes of the previous meeting, correspondence, budgets, recent media coverage, and reports on topics of discussion. Many of the records also contain Mary Wittenberg’s notes and annotations. Other records include meeting minutes and notes for Board committees, including the Audit Committee and Executive Committee. Board records in this series are not comprehensive, and official board meeting minutes can be found in NYRR 10: Governance Records.

The bulk of this series consists of Mary Wittenberg’s subject files, dating from 2005-2015, and document her daily work as NYRR President/CEO. Records are arranged by subject matter and therein chronologically, and primarily consist of her correspondence, speeches, and press talking points. Also included are Wittenberg’s copies of strategic planning documents pertaining to the New York City Marathon, NYRR races and events, and departmental and organization-wide changes. Other files relate to NYRR partnerships and relationships with various entities, including the City of New York, the Parks Department and Central Park Conservancy, USA Track & Field, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Armory Foundation. A small portion of records consist of budget materials, financial statements, and investment portfolio reviews, as well as documents relating to real estate and renovations of NYRR’s former office space at 89th Street.
